Jake Torem

Jake graduated from NYU’s prestigious TISCH School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Acting. As an actor he’s performed with such talents as Al Pacino, Judd Hirsch and Kevin Spacey and been directed by notables Julie Taymor, James Tripp, and Viveca Lindfors.
Jake is also a talented playwright and director. He made his directing debut Off Broadway at Theater for the New City with the premiere of his play Valhalla, starring Rockets Redglare and Michele Matheson. He was later invited to direct a staged reading of his screenplay “Riding with Death”, about the painter Basquiat. After moving to Los Angeles, Jake then produced his second play, “Mine Games”, and made his first film “Le corset”, an interesting examination of Edwardian sexuality.
In 2003 Jake wrote and directed the controversial feature “Looking Through Lillian” starring Sam Bottoms. The breakthrough film won awards at numerous festivals including Grand Prize for Drama at Houston where Sam Bottoms also received the Maverick Actor Award for his daring performance as Gene.
Jake is currently finishing post production on his latest film “Letting Go”.
